Dutch term

dat ziet er niet in

Dutch to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
Taken from some audio about Mars.

The Dutch is not 100% clear, but sounds like "Even een luchtje schep op mars, dat ziet er niet in."

We won't be doing that any time soon.

The translation is of course debatable, though I think this comes fairly close (unless the context is a strange one I don't know).

The Dutch should be 'dat zit er niet in'.

agree writeaway : Would be nice to hear the video. Without more context and/or hearing what is actually being said, it's hard to be sure. Agree this should be fairly close It means what it means

there's no chance of that

figurative. Also: mispelling: it should be 'dat zit er niet in'
Example sentence:

that zit er niet in

there's no chance of that

Peer comment(s):

agree Barend van Zadelhoff : een luchtje scheppen op mars zit er niet in: inderdaad, er is daar geen lucht en vrij rond lopen is er niet bij.

agree Kitty Brussaard : This translation seems to make most sense in the given context, for the reasons already explained by Barend.
