Merci Daryo ! Effectivement, après avoir posé la question au client, "remaining time" doit être compris dans le sens "remaining life" :)

What would make most sense is that the product has very limited "life"/"shelf life" (i.e. a "sell-by date" coming in few days) - THAT would be expressed in days.

IOW
Remaining term from place of production [in days]

would mean:

Once the product is taken out from the place of production, how many days are left to sell it before being obliged to throw it away IOW what is the remaining "life" of the product.

THAT would be a rather relevant/important piece of information when moving such products.

I'm almost sure the right technical term in French has already been asked in the opposite language pair.

Look at terms related to "product life / shelf life / sell by date ....)

I remember that some buyers don't want products where the "remaining life" is less than x% of the total duration of the "product life".

That would be also the same logic as in:

1. Inscrivez le délai [restant][résiduel] du lieu de production jusqu'ici. ("from" suggère "depuis le lieu de production jusqu'à...")
ou
2. Inscrivez la durée [restante][résiduelle] au lieu de production ici (l'absence de préposition devant "here" suggère "inscrivez ici")

On parle d'un délai de livraison ou de la durée de vie du produit? Il faudrait savoir... En attendant, je penche pour la durée de vie (et j'espère qu'il s'agit de denrées périssables!)

Non je ne crois pas que ce soit en vue d'une indemnisation. Il s'agit d'un formulaire à remplir, dans le cadre de la gestion de la chaîne logistique.
