section 18 (10) of the Irish Family Law (Divorce) Act 1996:
"Orders for provision for a spouse out of the estate of the other spouse: Where one of the spouses inrespect of whom a Decree of Divorce has been granted dies, the Court, on application to it by the other spouse not more than six months after representation is first granted, may by Order make such provision for the Applicant out of the estate of the deceased spouse as it considers appropriate"

pago de una pensión con los bienes del patrimonio sucesorio del cónyuge difunto
Pareciera que todo este párrafo da a entender que uno de los cónyuges estaba pagando una pensión alimentaria al otro cónyuge hasta la fecha de su muerte, con lo cual, si el cónyuge sobreviviente así lo solicita, se le seguiría pagando esa pensión tomando los fondos del patrimonio sucesorio del cónyuge difunto.
A saber:
Orders for provision for a spouse out of the estate of the other spouse: Where one of the spouses in respect of whom a Decree of Divorce has been granted dies, the Court, on application to it by the other spouse not more than six months after representation is first granted, may by Order make such provision for the Applicant out of the estate of the deceased spouse as it considers appropriate.
It is usual to obtain an Order pursuant to Section 18(10), when applying for a decree of divorce, which has the effect of blocking any application to Court for further provision on the death of a spouse.
