French term

flasque

French to English Tech/Engineering Engineering (general) Instruction video
Coller la roue et les flasques par la méthode suivante :
Les deux repères sur le flasque doivent être positionnés face au pied d’une pale de la roue.

I found 'flange', but elsewhere I've translated bride as 'flange'. The 'flasque' in question is a round plate with a hole in the middle.

Discussion

Verity Roat (asker) May 23, 2020:
It's for a motor for blower for respiratory home care. In the video they stick a wheel with blades onto the 'flasque' and then attach it to the motor.
Bashiqa May 23, 2020:
A bit more context would be appreciated. Flasque can mean all sorts of things in engineering.

flange pipe

Peer comment(s):

agree SafeTex : yes but not with "pipe". Could also be a or rim or ridge depending on exact design

disagree Tony M : From Asker's description, definitely NOT any kind of pipe!

disc / flange / plate

It really is impossible to be sure without seeing it; presumably you have the actual video to show us?

It sounds rather as if from its function it might well be a 'flange' — this can be a kind of plate that had a 'bump' in the middle; now we often thing of a 'flange' on something like a pipe fitting (but that type is called a 'bride' in FR), where the 'bump in the middle (= the pipe) is big and the surrounding flange (rim) is small; but you can also have a kind of flange where the disc is large, and the 'bump in the middle' may be quite small, like a sort of 'hub', or even not present at all...
