Dear ProZ members,
I have a question about the use of 連れてくる in the following sentence.
In a cartoon, there is a principality where the court members are the ones holding the power and the princess is only there as a front woman with no real authority. A person is speaking of this.
公女として連れてこられたものは公卿たちの指導のもと常に無慈悲な判断を求められます
(The one who's proclaimed princess is asked to always make ruthless decisions under the court guide).
Is 連れてこられた to be interpreted literally here (the person that the court members brought along them to be the princess) or does it have some other meaning?
Thank you so much!
