Se me había olvidado decir que la traducción que propongo está tomada del diccionario bancario inglés-español de Rafael Gil Esteban.

I was the staff translator for the World Council of Credit Unions, known in Spanish as "Consejo Mundial de Cooperativas de Ahorro y Crédito", and I still work for them as a translator and interpreter on contract.
This is name used in almost all Latin American countries, including Puerto Rico, with the exception of Argentina.
In Mexico, they are known as "cajas populares". I made add, though, that many Hispanics living in the U.S. are not familiar with the proper term, so you might have to put it between parentheses.
