@Eliza No, it is "hood food". You have seen my reference comment: you commented on it. It is about producing good quality food locally, preferably in the neighbourhood where it is consumed, but there are broader political aims around community activism, empowerment and equality. In particular, it challenges food deserts in poor urban areas and the dominant influence over what poor people eat by supermarkets and chains like McDonalds. The use of the term "hood" references black American neighbourhoods, though it seems that both black and white people are involved. As that webpage notes:

"It does however have the potential to again be dominated by primarily white graduates from wealthy and enterprising backgrounds ..."

TYPO FOR "GOOD FOOD" I think this is a typo for "good food." On an American keyboard, G and H are right next to each other -- the typo is very easy to make, and it won't be caught by spellcheck because "hood" is a real word.

I wasn't able to find anything online about any so-called "hood food" movement, but of course there is a "good food" movement that fits the criteria Laurie's text mentions ("natural products, authenticity and transparency"):

The source text could be another example of this Food naming trend.

I was just trying to translate the source text : "demand natural products, authenticity and transparency". I think hood food can have a different definition. Another reason to keep the EN term.

adulteration! So much English is wrongly understood and just faux amis in French (and other languages) In general I dislike bastardisation of languages. Yes, I see "Hood Food" in Bulgarian! LOL.

I still think that Europeans (non-English speakers) love names with the word "food" in it, like Slow Food (coined by an Italian), plus that Danish link in my answer. Since the French equivalent to hood food is not perfectly known, in my opinion, I would keep Hood Food - with further explanation, yes.

@ Cyril That's more like it! But "locally-produced" is more important than "produits naturels" as the latter can come from far away. The whole point of the movement is to keep it (production) in the 'hood

The point is that this term is NOT widely used in English, particularly in UK English (the link you gave is using US English and is not well written in terms of marketing. Very clunky. May have been written by a Dane in fact.) So, just leaving it in English is not a good idea in my view. But at least explain that it means locally-produced food in French.

Perhaps I should have pointed out that "hood" is black EN-US for "neighbourhood". So, the term is political in the sense of the intention to support working-class neighbourhoods, especially black neighbourhoods. The above reference gives a fairly detailed explanation, including points for and against, and why the movement might not produce the intended outcomes.
