Portuguese term

designando-se esta qualidade

Portuguese to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Comittment of the Brotherhood (Compromisso da Confraria)
As a continuation to my previous query, I have some doubts regarding the last part of the following sentence (19th century Compromisso da Confraria in the Estado da Índia)

"O catálogo será confeccionado nos termos e pela forma marcada no regulamento e modelo que o acompanha, inscrevendo-se n'elle promiscuamente os confrades e devotos e designando-se esta qualidade"

My doubt here is to what exactly does "esta qualidade2 refer to in this context. Is it the "forma"? Or is it referring to "promiscuamente"? Or to anything else?

I would be grateful for any assistance here!

I think Laura is right. If so, the range of correct answers to your "promiscuamente" question is limited. The meaning would appear to be that both confrades and devotos are to be included, and that their said statuses are also to be stated.

Mark, I think "esta qualidade" refers to the status of the people to be registered in the catalogue, namely as "confrades" or "devotos".
