French term

sauvegarde en Y

French to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Systems, Networks
This is in a presentation on security of Information Systems. There are 3 different networks on three different sites for the same project. Unfortunately I can not give any more context and the term is only stated once in a list:

1: Migration RedHat
2: Gestion du TLSv1.2
3: Déploiement AppLocker
4: Restauration des serveurs physiques
5: Plan Antivirus
6: Automatisation des sauvegardes de configuration
7: Traitement des LOGs
Amélioration du service: Sauvegarde en Y
Ré-urbanisation réseau

I was wondering if it was an alternative term for incremental or differential backup?

3-way backup

I'd imagine this means that each site is backed up to the other 2

neutral philgoddard : This is a possibility, though it doesn't get any hits.

Thanks, Phil! Does the source term in FR either? I think it's a pretty rare phenomenon.

Backup in Y

"Y" is presumably a network, database or similar, e.g. in My SQL. This looks simply like a backup that is saved in location "Y".
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : I don't get the impression this is "something called Y"
