With Kim:
the structure to be incorporated?

Well found, Kim.

Steffen Walter Sep 25, 2019:
@ Elizabeth I agree with "to be incorporated", but disagree with "material(s)" as per my comment on Kartik's answer.
Armorel Young Sep 25, 2019:
@Elizabeth I don't think you've taken account of Steffen's comment to Kartik.
elizabeth_med (asker) Sep 25, 2019:
to be incorporated? I was thinking of "building material to be incorporated" as a possible translation for this, as "processed" sounds a little strange to me. From what I understand, this is existing building material that is going to be integrated/incorporated into the new building… what do you think?
Steffen Walter Sep 25, 2019:
Yes, Armorel I've also thought of "existing fabric/structure" or "existing structural components" (vorhandene Bausubstanz/Bauteile) and "(to be) integrated/incorporated" (mitzuverarbeiten) in this case.
Armorel Young Sep 25, 2019:
mitzuverbeitende Bausubstanz .. is defined in HOAI section 2(7) as "Mitzuverarbeitende Bausubstanz ist der Teil des zu planenden Objekts, der bereits durch Bauleistungen hergestellt ist und durch Planungs- oder Überwachungsleistungen technisch oder gestalterisch mitverarbeitet wird" - so it is part of the structure/fabric of the building rather than building materials.

What you really need to is put your hands on a copy of HOAI, since it is published bilingually in German and English.

Translation pace Kim and Steffen via web ref.

building materials to be processed

Could this work in this context?
Peer comment(s):

disagree Steffen Walter : "Bausubstanz" is the (existing) fabric or structure of the building. The term does not specifically refer to building materials (Baustoffe).
