Honours Bachelor of Science

Hello,

I am working on a EN-ES transcript from a Canadian University that is going to be used in Spain and I am not sure how to translate this:

"Honours Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Management and Entrepreneurship option)"

For what I have been reading, an honours bachelor implies more credits and a higher need to focus.. Before we could use diplomatura or licenciatura to make a distinction but now grado is the term being used...

Any idea how to best translate "honours bachelor"?

Just for the record... ...and not because I think it's a suitable translation here, the statement that "bachillerato" does not refer to university study anywhere in the Spanish-speaking world is not true. The bachillerato universitario is well established, to my knowledge, in Chile, Argentina and Honduras and is being actively discussed, if not already implemented, in Mexico (where "bachillerato" denoted exclusively university study until 1938). I expect it exists in some other Latin American countries too. In all cases, I think, it denotes a shorter, lesser degree than a licenciatura, roughly equivalent to an associate degree.

At the University of Chester in the UK, to take an example at random, students from Honduras with a "Bachillerato Universitario (3 years) are considered for entry into the third year of a bachelor's degree course.

Coincido con abe(L)solano. Sin embargo, sospecho que si se empleara Licenciatura o Grado de Educación Superior, igual se entendería en ambos continentes. En estos casos, y en aras de la claridad, yo dejo el nombre del título original en paréntesis

Los comentarios de Raquel y Andy indican que se trata de una licenciatura "de excelencia", que se distingue de una licenciatura/carrera "normal" porque precisamente a los alumnos se les exige un nivel de rendimiento más alto, además hay un trámite de selección adicional para ingresar a este tipo de estudios y por último, son carreras que están certificadas por las autoridades educativas como "de excelencia". Por otro lado, es necesario saber si la traducción es para LatAm en general (Licenciatura) o España ("Grado" de Educación Superior que yo sepa, solo se usa en España).

Bachelor's degrees in Canada normally require three or four years of full-time study, depending on the province or whether the program is general or specialized. An honours baccalaureate degree usually signals a higher degree of concentration in the honours subject, as well as a higher level of academic achievement.

Pero "honour" no se refiere a una distincción, sino simplemente es la modalidad.

agree abe(L)solano : Licenciatura DE excelencia, no "con" excelencia. Pero habría que saber para qué país quiere la traducción Raquel. Efectivamente en México la SEP tiene este programa, y en España son más bien "proyectos de excelencia" por áreas temáticas.

disagree Andy Watkinson : Sorry. No tiene ninguna connotación de "honor" - es simplemente, y siguiendo la tradición británica, una licenciatura digamos "plena" a diferencia de un "General Degree"//Not in Canada or the UK. I have an honours degree - I think I know what it is.

disagree abe(L)solano : "bachiller" es precisamente, bachillerato (estudios pre-universitarios). Ni en LatAm o España se usa para referirse a estudios universitarios/profesionales. Es Licenciatura o Grado. Saludos.

Grado de (Ingeniería) Informática con sello de excelencia

Como dices que es para España, actualmente ya no existen las licenciaturas, son grados.
Tampoco solemos utilizar Grado de Ciencias en Informática, sino que se especifica directamente la materia del grado: Grado de Informática, Ingeniería Informática...

Por lo que veo, algunas universidades ofrecen grados con sello de excelencia o acreditación de excelencia, por lo que quizás sería una buena opción:
