My analysis:
why "retractor"?
1. We have a surgery.
2. During this surgery, a procedure ''Incising the fascia'' is to be done. For this procedure to be performed the area to be operated on should be opened.
3. The opening should be hold open from both sides,for the surgeon to perform his task, and here ''retractor'' comes into play:
