English term

fired vessels

English to Spanish Tech/Engineering Petroleum Eng/Sci
I am translating a document on oil wells and their operation.

The context is the following paragraph:

No potential ignition sources shall be installed inside the secondary containment area unless the containment area encloses a fired vessel or such sources are rated in accordance with industry codes and standards. Secondary containment such as duck ponds or lined earthen berms for temporary tanks shall also be used.

It sounds odd to me to translate it as "barcos incendiados", so I would very much appreciate an answer for this specific industry.

I am also confused about "duck ponds".

Thank you for a prompt response!

recipiente para aceite

Puede ser que duck ponds se refiera una marca de recipientes para contener aceite (por ejemplo, en cambios de aceite en vehículos con motor a combustión), se colocan en el piso para evitar ensuciar / contener derrames. Suerte!
