French term

degré coupe-feu 2 heures

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
Specifications for a logistics centre.

"3.5 PORTES COUPE - FEU
3.5.1 PORTES COULISSANTES
Porte coupe-feu coulissantes, degré coupe-feu 2 heures agrément de résistance au feu.
Ces portes sont prévues pour le local de charge, éventuellement entre les cellules.
Ces portes seront montées sur un rail incliné.
Le déclenchement se fera par fusible thermique commandé par un déclencheur autonome sur chaque face."

It is fairly clear what this means, but as it concerns safety... I'm having trouble getting a definitive translation of the expression... also because of the usual highly abbreviated writing style I'm not entirely sure whether there should be a comma (at least) before "agrément".

French term (edited): degré coupe-feu 2 heures agrément de résistance au feu

approved firebreak resistance level of 2 hours

Read "degré de résistance au feu" as "level of fire resistance".

Must have an "approved coupe-feu resistance level of 2 hours", or
"an approved 2-hour coupe-feu resistance level

https://www.promat.fr/download/file/fr/d5ce9c8df3514109a6a8a...

p8: "Trois critères sont utilisés pour l’évaluation des divers degrés de résistance
au feu des ouvrages testés", one example among a loads of others for the meaning of "degré" (level).

p12: "§ 1. L’isolement latéral entre un établissement recevant du public et un bâtiment ou un local contigu
occupé par des tiers doit être constitué par une paroi CF de degré 2 heures. Ce degré est porté à 3
heures si l’un des bâtiments abrite une exploitation à risques particuliers d’incendie", etc.

"Coupe-feu", see the GDT: firebreak, firestop.

neutral B D Finch : Not "firebreak" as that means a space containing no combustible materials. and is more usual in forestry. A firebreak wouldn't have a time-based rating.
