English term

made from regenerated and regenerable yarns.

English to French Other Textiles / Clothing / Fashion Design
Bonjour,

Merci.

@ormiston
I have already explained that in my input.
Here's another example: when, in medicine, we talk about regenerating brain cells, we mean that we are going to "work" on those cells that do not function anymore and give them a second life so they can serve exactly the same function they used to serve. We can not talk about recycling brain cells here as that would mean we are going to make out of them a missing nail or a damaged bone.
That's the subtle difference between recycling and regenerating.
Regenerated yarn = new yarn made out of old yarn.
Regenerable yarn = when the new yarn gets old and no more usable, we can regenerate it AGAIN into new yarn. (The whole cycle involves yarn as input and output).

I think there is a slight difference between Recycling and Regenerating. When you recycle a used product, you can make other products out of it, we recycle car tires and make, say, mats for gymnastics or use the resulting rubber sheets to insulate floors, etc. This is not the case in this context: we have OLD YARN and we REGENERATE it into NEW YARN. We don't make anything else out of it! For "Regenerable", it means that once that yarn is old again, we regenerate it again into NEW YARN.

post your suggestion! Sounds the best so far...

Example sentence:

coussins faits de fibres recyclées

Merci!
