: Yes, exactly as it says in the text; in EN we express the idea as 'exhaust / extract' vs (recirculation' — a duct is only used if it it to be exhausted to the outside.

It's important here to fully appreciate that this is "the particualr version of the cooker hood that uses an exhaust duct" — note too that the duct is on the exhaust (i.e. outlet) side, the fans in these things are simple and not designed to be impedance-loaded on their input side (and only minimally so on their output side)
Discussion
So it is a 'hotte aspirante en version...' — and there are 2, once that appears to extract to the outside, and one that simply recycles the filtered air.
It is the extracting one that uses ducting.
This is quite different from some other types of installation, where the duct is upstream of the fan unit and hence sucks the air in.
