The problem is the word "illustrate" do you thing it means who did his tattoos?
En español no podemos usar "ilustrar" con el significado de pintar, porque ilustrar solo se refiere a cosas. Puedes ilustrar un libro, pero si ilustras a una persona se refiere a que le enseñas algo, o la educas.
