French term

Nale de

French to English Medical Medical (general) A case of pancytopenia
Dear colleagues,

I would appreciate some help with this phrase (unable to find this). Context:

Début juillet, une carence en acide folique est suspectée sur une macrocytose à 108 μ3,
un myélogramme évocateur, et confirmée par l’effondrement du taux sérique des folates à 0,2 ng/ml (Nale de 4 à 20 ng/ml).

Thank you!
Proposed translations (English)

Doh! I was trying to work out whether it had something to do with sodium (Na)!

normal range

I have not encountered this notation previously however it is common on lab results to post what the lab regards as normal ranges, taking in to account the method of analysis, specific analytic machines used, error margin etc.

In the linked reference from the German speaking world (there listed under Folsäure) the normal range is listed as 3 -15 ng/ml which is in the same ball park.

Hence "Nale de" is probably a contraction of "normale de .... à"
