German to English Bus/Financial Tourism & Travel Degree
What is the English equivalent of this term. It is a degree after completing a college course after 4 years.
Thanks

Asker Several people here have asked you for further information. Could you please answer them?
Edith Kelly Jul 11, 2018:
Asker could you name the college?
Lancashireman Jul 11, 2018:
***kaufmann is a person rather than a degree What is the context - heading, list, sentence? If you want to name the course of study rather than the person, here is a UK equivalent:
Tourism & Hospitality Management BA (Hons)
https://www.coventry.ac.uk/cuc/course-structure/hnc-hnd-degr...
Edith Kelly Jul 11, 2018:
asker should indeed specify the country where the diploma was issued. E.g. Hotelkaufmann: you can receive training, you can be an apprentice or you can go to college, graduating with a BA.
Björn Vrooman Jul 11, 2018:
Interesting Then the asker should specify. Not disputing what you wrote, but your own link shows that this is an "Ausbildungsberuf," just like Industriekaufmann. You can study Touristik, but that's not it. To me, this doesn't make sense.

Here's a link from CH:
"Zu seinem Werdegang gehören eine abgeschlossene Handelsschule, eine Aus- und Weiterbildung zum Touristikkaufmann / Eidg. dipl. Tourismus-Experten an der Schule für Touristik sowie eine Weiterbildung zum Marketingleiter GfM-IMB."
https://www.tagblatt.ch/ostschweiz/arbon-kreuzlingen-weinfel...

That's a specialized school, just like the Travel Agent University below.

Also, the asker said it's a degree, not a job description. That'd be something such as
http://laquey.k12.mo.us/A web/Hospitality and Tourism.html

or

https://www.icms.edu.au/course/bachelor-international-touris...

Best
Edith Kelly Jul 11, 2018:
Björn No, I know a girl who did this course of study in Switzerland, graduating with a BA.
Travel agent does not cover it.
Björn Vrooman Jul 11, 2018:
Ramin It's a simple travel agent:

http://www.travelagentuniversity.com
https://www.iata.org/training/subject-areas/Pages/travel-tou...
https://study.com/travel_agent_course.html

No clue how this is thought to be a university degree (what kind of college is this supposed to be?). It's typically an "Ausbildung."

Best wishes

[a degree in] Tourism Industry

This university offers a degree in Touristikkaufmann

From reading the description of the course, it seems like "Tourism Industry" makes sense.

As the Germans like fancy titles, how about "Tourism and Hospitality Administrator"?
