''Procedure

A sample of completed cable at least 6 m in length which had not been subjected to any of the tests described in Subclause 12.4 or 14.4 of IEC 60840 or Subclause 12.3 or 13.3 of HD 632 S2, was subjected to the bending test described in Subclause 12.4.3 of IEC 60840 or Subclause 12.3.3 of HD 632 S2.

The cable was placed horizontally. A ring approximately 50 mm wide was removed from the centre of the length. This ring comprised all the layers external to the conductor. The surfaces were cut so that the interfaces intended to be longitudinally watertight was readily exposed to water.''
