Spanish term
en velcro
Spanish to English
Medical
Medical (general)
Thought this might be a typo initially, but it has appeared several times. This is an examination report by a pulmonary specialist, talking about lung sounds:
ruido respiratorio presente con estertores crepitantes en velcro en region subscapular bilateral, estertores aislados en velcro en region intraescapulovertebral...
Thanks for any suggestions

: Literalmente velcro crackling rales, aunque no he encontrado esta expresión en inglés. Traducirla como crepitantes en velcro parece perfectamente razonable; velcro crackles; o velcro crackles and rales. Y en el segundo caso [isolated] velcro rales

: I am not a medical translator but someone I know had a velcro crackle in the lung diagnosed by a specialist a couple of months ago.

Velcro Companies To Public: It's Hook And Loop, Not Velcro
https://www.velcro.com › Home › Press and News
Sep 25, 2017 - Inventor of Hook-and-Loop Fasteners Launches Humorous ... mistakenly call them 'Velcro' or use the term to explain the fastening mechanism.
This reminds me of a conversation I once had with a surgeon when I asked him about some slightly objectionable terminology in a translation I was working on. Not only did he confirm the language, but he went on to add: "You don't even want to know some of the words we use to describe things."
Which suggests that the terms they use may need to be "cleaned up" in documents used for formal purposes.
