Az APG és AP rövidítés magyarázata:

One section "Protection against the hazards of explosion in medically used rooms " defines three zones of explosive risk, based on the distance between a piece of electrical equipment and "the enclosed medical gas system", that is, the breathing system of a ventilator or anaesthetic machine, the patient's airways and any leak therefrom. The highest risk zone is that within the system or up to 5 mm around it, and electrical equipment suitable for use in this zone is to be classified as "Anaesthetic Proof Category G" and marked with a 2-cm wide green band imprinted with the letters APG. It has also to meet the most stringent requirements concerning electrical energy and insulation. A lower risk "Anaesthetic Proof" zone is denned between 5 cm and 25 cm from the enclosed medical gas system. It must be marked with a green dot or circle imprinted with the letters AP.
