French term

dès la mise à [FOB]

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Delivery of the contractual goods: Insurance in transit/Incoterms
Hello,

Have I got this right or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

I'm only the proofreader.

FR:

It is agreed that the Purchaser will cover the risks of transporting the material that is the object of this agreement, ***as from despatch, FOB (Port ********** ).

I am assuming that "sera le fait de" means "will be the responsibility of" even though I have not been able to verify this in either Reverso or Linguee.

Best regards,

Sebastian Witte

sera le fait de l'acheteur, *** I understand that in the French text, after: ''sera le fait de l'acheteur,'' the "***"' is the name of the Purchaser.

An aside Note that an "objet" in French is frequently a "subject" in English.
Sebastian Witte (asker) Feb 15, 2018:
Right underneath it says (translated) The Supplier undertakes to make known to the Purchaser the following information by e-mail, 48 hours prior to the departure of the vessel:
The name of the vessel and the date of departure from the port of embarcation of the material purchased.
The place of embarcation
The nature of the material shipped and its value

when the goods become FOB

Or when the goods are aboard the vessel. FOB is "free on board", meaning that the seller delivers them to the ship, and the buyer bears all risks thereafter.

"Sera le fait de" means "is the responsibility of".
Note from asker:
Thank you for this.

upon delivery FOB

http://www.gondrand.fr/p28-lexique-incoterms.php
Both these sources use the same text, which makes me think there is another original source, but I haven’t been able to trace it.

For example :

In terms of translation, mise en FOB is translated as “delivery FOB”/"FOB delivery" depending on its place/role in the sentence.

“less the average costs of transport and delivery FOB

“corresponding to average costs of transport and delivery fob

“shall be reviewed if the average costs of transport, delivery fob or forwarding change substantially

“the development of the real costs of transport and delivery fob

To meet all the needs and requirements of our customers [we] have learned to master our supply chain, our convoy of goods by truck to the FOB delivery on ship

As regards your question (dès la mise à FOB), I would suggest "upon delivery FOB".
For instance :
"Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, title to merchandise and risk of loss shall pass to the purchaser upon delivery F.O.B. our factory in Cedar Grove, NJ USA."

Unless otherwise agreed, in the case of all non-UK sales involving delivery outside the UK the goods will be delivered FOB the premises or port nominated by
Mitsubishi. Risk of loss and damage to the goods shall pass to the Customer upon delivery FOB the place nominated by Mitsubishi.

CL3 because a native speaker of English could perhaps find a better way of expressing it, but I'm fairly confident this should answer your question.
