The patent translates this as the roll and the rolling method. Is there a better English description of these methods, as linguistically there is not much difference between roll and rolling?

When you need to use another term to say the same thing, maybe you need to make up one. Although I'm not sure if the term "rolled-sheet method" is used in the industry or not, it at least serves the purpose of being an alternative term to add in your patent translation.

Rolling seems to be followed by "stretching".
