By any chance, are these "units" relevant to "shelves"? Like, say, packaging? Or labels?
In which case "win on the shelf" wouldn't be a figure of speech, but very literally something happening on the shelves (as opposed to a printed catalogue, or an e-commerce website or ...), which would in turn mean that you could not omit "shelf/shelves" from the translation.
