English term (edited): cheque given in bad faith

first thing first: there in no mention whatsoever of

"a bad faith cheque"

in this ST - the said cheque has no "faith" either bad or good

what is there is

a cheque given in bad faith - by a living creature, the accused, a miscreant doing the "giving" in bad faith

the "bad faith" is an adverb qualifying the "giving of a cheque" the action of a person, NOT an adjective qualifying the inanimate "cheque"

the cheque itself can be qualified of "dude cheque" / "worthless cheque" / "blounced cheque" / "unpaid cheque" / "forged cheque" / "cancelled cheque" etc

the person giving a cheque without having the funds in the account to clear the cheque can be acting in good faith (by genuine error) or in bad faith - deliberately / on purpose giving a cheque knowing that it won't be paid / without any intention of making sure it will be paid.
