ajourages de ponts

French to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Watch parts
Hi all,

I'm translating some marketing posters for a company offering digital printing on watch parts. The language combination is French into English. The phrase in question appears as one of the selling points for one of the types of print designs offered.

Please below for further context:

'CLASSICAL DESIGN:
- Décors traditionnels mécaniques
- Combinaisons d'états de surface avec des ajourages de ponts.
- Qualité esthétique'

I think that it could be something along the lines of 'Surface finishes combined with the latticework on the bridges', but I'm not enough of an expert to be sure. Could someone help please?

Many thanks!

agree Nikki Scott-Despaigne : As an adjective, cld work well. "Openwork bridge" gets a hit for a watch in NY's MOMA. Also "openwork dial": http://www.chrono24.com/corum/10710104v250-0000-titanium-bri...

L'ajourage
L'ajourage consiste à réaliser des ouvertures sur certaines pièces ou les ponts afin que l'on puisse mieux voir les différents éléments du mouvement.

Not really latticework, it can sometimes just be a gap.
