"Auffiederung" ist mir in dem Zusammenhang noch nicht begegnet und auch Tante G. findet nur wenige Beispiele dafür. Vermutlich geht es um Ödem oder Blut, das nach einer Verletzung zwischen die Muskelfasern tritt, sodass sie "breiter auseinander liegen" als üblich.
"Splaying" wäre eine Möglichkeit, das auf Englisch auszudrücken – kein Terminus technicus, aber der deutsche Begriff ist ja auch nicht gerade Standardfachterminologie.
"Architectural distortion" wird häufiger verwendet, ist von der Bedeutung her (wenn ich "Auffiederung" richtig verstehe) ein bisschen breiter, aber m.E. auch eine Übersetzungsmöglichkeit.
"Splaying" wäre eine Möglichkeit, das auf Englisch auszudrücken – kein Terminus technicus, aber der deutsche Begriff ist ja auch nicht gerade Standardfachterminologie.

Auffiederung is not a term I am familiar with.
And while the other terms submitted may have relevance to muscle structue, here we are talking about ultrasound properties of suspected muscle damage.
Fiederung describes the normal heterogenic structure of muscles which can be seen using ultrasound --> "Large intramuscular septa may produce a reticular pattern, and intermuscular septa appear brightly echogenic. In the longitudinal plane, the perimysium is seen as oblique parallel echogenic striae against a hypoechoic background."
So, in this context Auffiederung must mean das Aufheben der Fiederung or loss of this normal heterogenic appearance. The loss of muscle echogenicity is related to muscle strains --> "Sonographically, grade I strains may have a normal appearance or show focal or general areas of increased echogenicity. However, perifascial fluid may be seen, and up to 50% of grade I strains show generalized hyperechogenicity...
Clinical grade II muscle strains, representing intrasubstance tears, present with pain and loss of function. Sonographically, there is discontinuity of muscle fibers in echogenic perimysial striae."

Ja, kann sein, aber wenn man überlegt, was ein Muskel-Sonobefund auf deutsch beinhaltet kommt "Auffiederung" (wie feather-like) nicht vor. Ich habe bloß versucht den Begriff in die typischen sonographische Merkmale einer Muskelverletzung einzugliedern.

Anne Schulz may be correct in assuming that whoever wrote this was using MRI terminology, because it is not used in ultrasound.
The feather-like changes seen in MRI scans correspond with echogenic changes in ultrasound scans representing a fibrillar defect. They do not, however, look feather-like in ultrasound.
