I just can't find a way to re-phrase.

@Nathalie I think that the better lateral translation is "ambidexterity": http://www.dictionary.com/browse/ambidexterity. In English, "duality" usually refers to a metaphysical concept. We, including the Asker, are saying that xx is equally dextrous in all aspects of electronics, which is a useful skill set to have when working in aeronautics.

I don't think they are saying that "le tout-électronique" is their area of competence, but rather that "in this all-digital world, we are experts both at land and aircraft technologies." Or something along those lines.

I was also thinking "versatility". @Natalie The placement of the word, a strange choice, in the sentence suggests that xx relies on the __ of his know-how in "all of electronics"...

across-the-board expertise / why 'dual'? I would tend to think along the lines of 'across-the-board expertise' - but why are they talking specifically about 'duality'? Is there anything else in the rest of the document that would indicate what these 'two' fields of expertise might be? Do you think they mean the combined knowledge of electronics and aeronautics, or is there more to it than that?

?? I think they are not talking about their expertise in electronics, but in the land vs. aircraft areas. Otherwise, why would they even think about "dualité"?
