Может, "...the lamp illuminates the wall with a creepy stain"

Take you pick of adjectives here. It's hard to tell which of them fits best without seeing more. The real issue here is to think how such things are generally said in English rather than just follow the Russian verbiage. Things are phrased differently in different languages.

Thank you. "Casting a shadow" was what I wanted to write when I managed to make sense of the original, but since it's supposed to be poetry/lyrics, I thought there could be a more 'creative' way to express it.
