French term

faire émerger

French to English Marketing Engineering: Industrial
Notre volonté est donc de faire émerger un maitre d’œuvre industriel solide capable d’entraîner avec lui l’ensemble de la chaine industrielle sur le secteur des X en France et en Europe.

I just can't seem to find the word.

Nikki Scott-Despaigne Jan 31, 2017:
enable, foster I like "enable" as that conveys the idea of "faire faire qlqchs". "To foster" is better still and then the use of "emergence of" works well.
polyglot45 Jan 30, 2017:
produce, reveal, spawn, create foster the emergence of, breed, etc. etc.

Oops sorry! Nous is the mother company who is launching a subsidiary that will become the "maître d'oeuvre...". They are promoting this new branch.
Tony M Jan 30, 2017:
@ Asker I'm not surprised — but neither can we, since we don't have enough context!

Who are 'nous', and what is their relationship to this 'maître d'œuvre' that they are tryng to 'faire émerger'? Is it in fact referring to themselves? or are they in some way promoting some other company? It's really vital here to give us the fullest possible wider context, as the translation is likely to be very far from literal here.

neutral Nikki Scott-Despaigne : Thanks for teaching me this expression. Teh examples you cite semm to be either tongue in cheek or have a negative slant. The asker's context seems to require something quite positive.

The second one seems positive and I'm sure other positive examples can be found. Negativity may possibly be attributed to masculine hangups? ;)
