agree nweatherdon : depending on the target audience, it might be worth knowing that a "school policeman" is rarely called as such. Something like "managing affairs and interactions/relations with the community" is normally the gist of the position name.

This is a USA/Canada term only. Your term is of course France-specific.

However, I do believe that they are equivalents.
