has a uniform character
Where it has a uniform character as well as where it is shaped by slats for lighting and ventilation.
I agree with Björn that this is most probably a “closed facade” in a “visual” sense, in other words, a uniform facade (in contrast to areas where the facade is broken up by elements such as slats for lighting and ventilation).

: Thanks, Paul, for posting your suggestion as an answer. Despite the somewhat imperfect source text, I don't really see how this could refer to anything else than optics (similar to "in sich geschlossen(es) Bild" or "harmonious appearance").

provides/demonstrates solidity
Demonstrating solidity....
I just can't shake the feeling that there is great deal missing in the German text. Not exactly worng, just insubstantial.
I just can't shake the feeling that there is great deal missing in the German text. Not exactly worng, just insubstantial.
Example sentence:
The highly adpatable nature of XXX facade systems covers the varying functions a facade should serve..demonstrating solidity, were solidity is called for and forming ???, introducing light and air.

: That's the idea - both where it provides solidity and where it is slatted for purposes of lighting and ventilation

I first assumed it was more of a marketing text. Ah, but would context be mandatory! Enjoy the sun, Armorel.

Nothing missing here. Standard way of expressing the concept.

: Michael, I have a hunch it means a 'uniform' appearance (not a 'unified' one) broken up occasionally by slats for lighting and ventilation. And instead of 'give off' I would say it 'has' an appearance. / It depends on what you're looking for in a facade.

Could be right. Still, not sure that’s a quality worth touting. Isn’t that a bit like praising a plate for being round?

Armorel Young
: Are you confusing contiguous and continuous? Contiguous means sharing a common border or touching, so different sections could be contiguous but a single thing can't be.

https://www.mocopinus.com/de/produktwelt/fassade/system-pinu...
https://www.homify.de/ideenbuecher/320438/6-ideen-fuer-eine-...
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geschlossene_Bauweise_(Baurech...
