Spanish term

efecto añadido

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general)
This comes in an article for a medical journal which reports on research into the cost-effectiveness of using a particular technology in surgery:

Is "added effect" a recognised term here? I can find a lot of references to it in a gaming field, but not in a medical research field. Added value is obviously a term, but doesn't quite have the right meaning here - and anyway would be valor anadido

Discussion

Biomed Sci Sep 5, 2016:
Good morning James!
I'm sorry I don't have time this morning to look at your question in depth, but if you look in the field of "cost-effectiveness analysis"or cost-effectiveness studies (rather than medical research), you might have more luck.

oportunity cost

It is an economic issue, rather than a medical issue in my opinion.

unit value added

Added value and value added are not completely identical. But I agree with Leo that you should look up in economy, not in healthcare
