Estoy traduciendo un debate entre profesores sobre la importancia de establecer objetivos de aprendizaje y tengo el siguiente comentario de una profesora:

Eficiencia y eficacia son casi sinónimos en español. Utilizaría solo uno de los dos para evitar la redundancia.

To the extent that reproducing some of the source-text's wordiness may be advisable with respect to stylistic considerations, perhaps a slightly less succinct option may be preferable, especially one that renders "use" as "utilizar" (or "usar").
Having said that, Bea's suggestion of "aprovechar eficazmente" may work as well. As for avoiding the use in Spanish of those two synonyms, I agree; omission is certainly an option. However, we could also go with something like, "un uso más eficiente y racional de mi tiempo", which forms a collocation that appears to fit nicely as well.
Sin saber más del contexto, quizás una de estas sugerencias le sirva.

Por lo que dice el contexto que tenemos, “it” se refiere a un ejemplo, tema o contenido que, cuando lo usa(n), ayuda a los alumnos a entender mejor (o más rápido), con lo que se optimiza el tiempo de clase. En vez de “hacer la clase(o tiempo) más eficiente diría que la clase rinde más, o que el tiempo de clase rinde más.
