This is my first time translating a legal document. The sentence I need confirmation of is:
在案中案的聆讯阶段，被告人选择了作证，但 并没有传召其它证人
For '案中案的聆讯' I think it means just a hearing (?). But in this context, does it refer specifically to a central phase of a hearing (案中案)?
