Возможно. Действительно в россии полицейские носят погоны аналогичные военным со звездочками итп. В США погоны на форме полицейских чисто декоративные и не содержат информации о звании или отделе.

You could try to use "uniform" as in "you are (almost) in uniform," but that may be confusing too and anyway no native would put it that way. What they probably would say is that you are a f...g rat, and how about I blow that shit you have for brains right out before you sell any more brothers down the river. Something like that.

In any case, you have to "transcreate" it a little because otherwise no one is going to bother reading that mush. Most of what they pass for modern Russian prose that absolutely needs to be translated into English and published on Amazon has to be heavily doctored before it becomes remotely palatable. And most likely, not even then. And that's before we even consider that we have plenty of our own thugs and "literature" of this kind about them, so who wants to read about Russian ones anyway? But I digress, my bad

Яков, уточните, пожалуйста, идет ли речь о принадлежности самого члена мафии к силовым структурам или о наличии связей в полиции. Я понимаю "у тебя погоны" как "ты военный/полицейский" или "ты бывший военный/полицейский", а не как "у тебя есть связи в полиции". Спасибо.
