German term

abrechnungspflichtig

German to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
"Es sei daher vorab zu prüfen, ob die Beklagte auskunfts- und abrechnungspflichtig sei."
from a Swiss court judgement.
I've already seen that Kudoz has an answer for this term, but I think it's incorrect ("chargeable").
Does anyone have a better suggestion ? As I understand it, it's someone who is under a duty to settle an account ??
Thanks very much for your help.

Could we have the context, please. "Daher" suggests that the previous couple of sentences will help us to understand this. And what has the defendant done?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you Adrian!"

responsible for clearing/processing

Perhaps something like that is meant. But there is definitely not enough context.

subject to accounting requirements

Without context, that's what I would go for:

subject to disclosure and accounting requirements
