Italian term

staffe

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering
E' stato schematizzato lo chassis mediante un Generic Body: questo elemento è rappresentativo del telaio della vettura e può essere considerato come un vincolo a terra al quale collegare il motopropulsore mediante le tre staffe lato motore, cambio e differenziale.

@ I don't really know. I found it on iate.....
James (Jim) Davis Dec 9, 2015:
More context please A "supporto motore" is an "engine mount" (like a thick rubber sandwich where the bread is sheet metal) which sits between a structural member (part of the chassis) and the engine. Without them a car would become a true and genuine boneshaker. The use of the word staffe makes me thing of "plates" probably welded onto the chassis which engine mounts (for the engine) and the gearbox and diff would be fitted to.

mounts/supports

There may be a more specific term for the exact mount/support used, but as a generic term mounts/supports would work fine.

From the drawings in the document below it seems to me that this is the right term.
