Spanish term

Palacio canonjil

Spanish to English Other Religion
This is from a guide to Pamplona and I can't find the word in any of my dictionaries or on the internet. I think it is an adjective but I don't know what it means. I checked canonical but that is canónico, so I'm not sure if that's right. Perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree altogether.

Any ideas?

Palacio canonjil al final de c/ Dormitalería.

El conjunto de estos elementos han resultado destruidos en parte por exigencia de la construcción de la moderna casa canonjil.

It's only these two references.

Thanks.

Discussion

Charles Davis Oct 6, 2015:
@Lucy Apparently it was once episcopal, but Bishop Armingot gave it to the canons in the thirteenth century to use as sleeping quarters.

Episcopal palace?

canonry

I.e., the office or benefice (Palacio) of a canon. Canonjil should be spelt 'canonjía'.
