Attendance
Parents/Guardians’ Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to report student absence to the Attendance Office. This should be done by telephoning 881-5350 prior to 7:45 a.m. EACH DAY the student is absent. If a student is not called in by a parent or guardian, the student will receive a detention.
Parents/guardians are also required to send a note with the student when he/she returns to school. The note should include:
1) the reason for the absence;
2) the date of each school day missed; and
3) the signature of the parents/guardian.
Student’s Responsibility
The student must present the note to the Attendance Office PRIOR TO THE FIRST PERIOD of his or her schedule. If a student fails to bring a note, he or she will be given a detention to be served that day or the following day
1. Excused Absence
A student’s absence will be considered excused unless otherwise noted by the Attendance office or an administrator.
In the case of an excused absence, the student will bear the total responsibility for making up all the work missed during his or her absence
