are withdrawn

Erledigt means "dealt with" or "completed". I'm not sure of the precise connotations of "Abschreiben", but it may imply "removed from the record".
Peer comment(s):

agree Daniel Arnold (X) : abzuschreiben würde ich "strike-off" vorschlagen. Ich kenne auch "abandoned law suit" in dem Zusammenhang.

Yes, you could also say "struck from the petition".
agree writeaway : agree that is actually a jein. withdrawn is the Rückzug. imo reducing the erledigt abzuschreiben to 'are' (to be) is skirting the problem, but probably gets the point across even if over-simplified.

Thanks. It literally means"are struck from the petition as withdrawn", but I don't think it's oversimplifying to say "are withdrawn".

declare as closed/settled

Peer comment(s):

neutral writeaway : there is no erklären in the text. A 2006 unsupported anonymous suggestion is hardly a ref.

neutral AllegroTrans : who or what is doing the declaring?
