modules d'affichage
The modules consist of a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between two sheets of transparent substrate, a TFT array to activate the liquid crystal and a color filter.

réseau TFT / TCM
“TFT array” i.e. Thin-Film Transistor array : « réseau [matrice] TFT » ou « réseau TCM » ; l\'acronyme est en effet parfois traduit : « transistor en / à couches minces ».

: "réseau" doesn't make any sense: ref(1) Japanese or GT "French" ref 2 : wrong parsing "RS485 Réseau" + "TFT ... Testeur" // OTOH "matrice" is fine

"Réseau" of course *does* make sense. Like "matrice" as suggested too.

Merci ! Réflexion faite, je suis aussi de plus en plus sceptique sur \"matrice\"... et persiste en tous les cas pour \"réseau\".

English term (edited):
a TFT array (display screen)

: Yes, 'array' is just another word for 'matrix', especially in this very specific context; it happens to be an 'x by y' array, just as it might have been an 'x by y' matrix

Discussion
The notion of a \'matrix\' tends rather to emphasize the crossing-points — and in some specific technical instances, \'matrix\' is translated in FR as \'grille\', which perhaps gives a good image of the notion.
If there is any intended difference in meaning at all, I would venture to suggest that an \'array\' is more concerned with the physical juxtaposition of the elements — the \'holes in the grille\' if you like; tiles on a bathroom wall might be described as an \'array\', while the grouted joins between them form something of a \'matrix\'; in the former case, I\'m pretty sure \'réseau\' wouldn\'t be a good fit, whereas to describe the \'grid\' of lines perhaps might.
I hope this helps to make the fine distinction clear — and I\'m not sure there really is a better solution in FR than the one proposed here.
First of all, do note that \'active matrix\' is a dedicated term, and must be considered as a whole and not as 2 separate words.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I understand the notion of \'réseau\' in FR to encompass the idea of interconnections? Thus we have \'réseaux sociaux\', we have the \'réseau public\' for supplying electricity — these are but two examples of uses that emphasize the idea of interconnection. Yet neither of these could be properly described as an \'array\' in EN.
Conversely, in EN, the underlying notion of \'array\' is the arrangement of elements (which need not necessarily be physically connected) — look at the very etymology of the word.
So we might say that \'the breakfast buffet included a fine array of local produce\' — but I feel sure one wouldn\'t call that a \'réseau\' in FR?
So yes, \'réseau\' can sometimes be a good translation of \'array\' — but it isn\'t a simplistic one-size-fits-all drop-in synonym in all cases.
À cet égard, il est intéressant de retenir cette définition donnée par Termium dans le contexte « Dispositifs électroniques » :
« Array – réseau : Circuit intégré conçu à partir de microstructures élémentaires organisées le plus souvent en matrice.

Another difference between active-matrix and passive-matrix OLEDs is the use of a thin film transistor (TFT) back plate on the active-matrix display. The TFT forms a matrix that is used to control both the brightness of the pixel as well as the pixel illuminated to form an image. In actuality, there are two TFT arrays per pixel. One array is used to start and stop the charge, whereas the second provides a constant electrical current to the pixel. Because a TFT array uses a very Iow amount of power and refreshes relatively fast…
