Funny that but I thought it was a Sp > En translation, so I reckon English could play a part in the translation and determining what is meant. Basically you are saying that grammar simply does not come into the equation when translating? TBH that's your best one yet!

So does "hyrous sodium carbonate" contain information??? Is that your interpretation?? (BTW I guess it's actually "anhydrous sodium carbonate" which is used for such purposes. An anhydrous salt will absorb the moisture from the body, whereas a hydrous salt is already hydrated and would not absorb any moisture - it's one of those cases where the correct meaning of the word is important.)

Hi Jude "hydrous" is an adjective and simply wouldn't fit with either the grammar or the meaning of the sentence.
