Linia lobowa amonita;
tekst: Wnętrze „spiralnego domu” amonita podzielone było przegrodami na komory. Kolejne przegrody przyrastały wzdłuż specjalnego szwu zwanego linią lobową. Im bardziej przebieg tej linii był skomplikowany, tym muszla była odporniejsza na zgniecenie przez wodę (wzrost ciśnienia wraz z głębokością).
