Spanish term
ni una evidencia ni tampoco una fatalidad
Spanish to English
Tech/Engineering
Electronics / Elect Eng
Interconnections
Book about Electrical Interconnections (Spain)
Is anyone able to confirm that "evidencia" means "self-evident" or "obvious" here and that "fatalidad" means "inevitable", "random" or "chance"?
I'm assuming that "lineal" in the earlier part of the sentence is along the lines of "straightforward".
Any suggestions on how best to phrase this would be greatly appreciated.
"XXX ha investigado la evolución de las distintas sensibilidades en torno a las interconexiones, desde quienes las idealizan hasta quienes las rechazan. La historia de las interconexiones entre (country A) and (country B) está lejos de ser lineal, sostiene el autor, **no son ni una evidencia ni tampoco una fatalidad**."

I think here he is saying that using the history of one connection as basis for predicting the performance of other ones is not valid.
