English term

surprisingly enough

Non-PRO English to Turkish Other Idioms / Maxims / Sayings common speech expression
In this context 'enough' is an intensifier as in 'oddly enough/surprisingly enough' i.e. surprising, but just surprising enough to be worth noting'. Examples are:-
"Surprisingly enough, the results are wholly different from what I expected."
"Surprisingly enough, the technique of cloning is quite simple."
The expression can be used cynically: say, you went for a walk with the dog in the pouring rain. Upon your return home, your wife asks:-
"Are you wet?"
You reply:-
"Surprisingly enough, I am soaked to the skin!"
Could I say for all these instances:-
'Şaşırtıcı bir şekilde' or better 'çok şaşırtıcı ama..' or 'şaşırtıcı olan şu ki' or, finally,
"sürpriz ama..".

Salih YILDIRIM May 14, 2015:
Dear Zeki,
I have been speaking English since 1967 and now in MI-USA as it happens every year next year Coventry - UK and I am a re. Tech.Instructor trained in USAFB. Chenute - Ill., USA not a New Comer.
Salih YILDIRIM May 14, 2015:

Dear Zeki,
Is this the statement to be pronounced by a decent Asker? "Salih's was the least help." No ways, sorry, He is not a Language Audit though! Every Peer who saves time to define a term asked deserves Full Respect, always Constructive.
Zeki Güler May 14, 2015:
Mr Hellinas is so kind (probably the only asker who provide detailed explanation of his choice every time, out of courtesy) to thank all respondents one by one.
His kind words are sometimes misunderstood by us who are not native speakers of English.
He was just thanking, rather than criticising Dear Salih.
Salih YILDIRIM May 14, 2015:
As a curtesy rule, particularly on international platforms, one is to be more meticulous in making unnecessary comment to maintained current credit in the eyes of Peers. I hope you do not misunderstand my point to write these lines. Namely, please DO NOT make comments on Peer's definition when not Chosen as best by your party, it is not ethical at all.
Hellinas (asker) May 14, 2015:
Salih's! What is the Asker (sic) supposed to do but choose from an answer submitted by a 'Peer(!)' who is equal to you?!
Salih YILDIRIM May 7, 2015:
"Ummadığın taş baş yarar!" (She/he can make it as the main point by its user)
Hellinas (asker) May 7, 2015:
Turkish for 'an unexpected stone results in injury What is The Turkish for this saying? What does it mean?

aslında/açıkçası

I think this is the best equivalent that reflects the real meaning.
Trying to translate literally would be misleading here in my opinion:

"Aslında/açıkçası sonuçlar beklediğimden çok farklı.
Aslında klonlama tekniği çok basit.
Aslında/açıkçası iliklerime kadar ıslandım."

Best,

agree Salih YILDIRIM : Yet, Asker acts like a Mentor above all Peers!

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to all for the their help. Salih's was the least help, since he offered no explanation of the meaning of the expression he gave. Zeki's examples appeal to me since he always shies off s literal translation. 'Surprisingly enough' is often merely a filler. On the other hand, Yusef offers a good idiom in cases where 'surprisingly enough' is more than just a filler. I have read from a friend that ne garipti ki is a good idiom to use in the third of my example sentences."
