Dutch term

geneffect

Dutch to English Other Business/Commerce (general) Sales
"Ondanks dat hij over een guneffect beschikt, is zijn luistervaardigheid en inlevingsvermogen niet sterk naar voren gekomen."

This is a candidate assessment following a number of capacity tests. This particular section is about his ability to build relationships with people. I presume the term means he is able to either get people to like him quickly (i.e. he is charismatic?) or he is able to demonstrate that he has their best interests at heart. It appears to be a relatively new term, which I have found only two other instances of on the internet, neither of which were particularly helpful. Looking for a Dutch native speaker who may therefore be able to shed some more light on this...?

Suzi Griffiths (asker) Apr 27, 2015:
@Writeaway, thanks for the link - that was very helpful for expanding my understanding of the meaning of 'guneffect' and 'gunfactor' in this field, but consequently I'm not convinced that 'goodwill factor' is an equivalent English term. What do you think? I would really value your opinion.

Now Dutch monolingual since you want NL natives http://www.managersonline.nl/weblog/279/is-verkopen-een-kwes...

Make sure to correct the spelling of the term.

The term 'goodwill factor' also seems to be used with a very specific meaning in accounting. Alternatively, consider using: Despite the fact that he has a lot of goodwill going for him / working in his favour (...)

From an article originally published by the Los Angeles Times:

Crystal’s celebrity gives him an advantage over other performers of one-person shows. He’s a known commodity who can command top dollar for tickets. An opening film montage prepares the audience for his entrance, and he obviously has a goodwill factor going for him. He says he is often greeted with a standing ovation, which helps him feel more comfortable.
