Chápu to tak, že v "annual report" nebyly z důvodů uvedených v závorkách zahrnuty vyjmenované společnosti.

nedostatek/nedostatky
Purely on gut feeling.
It does not seem plausible that the report would be commenting on companies which were not included in it. If the author was not English native, could it be possible that "lack" was used erroneously as "nedostatek" (in the report pertaining to the respective companies)?

jde o "investment sub-fund called European SRI Equity" čili subfond evropských akcií vyhovujících SRI požadavkům a akcie uvedených společností nebyly zahrnuty/zakoupeny do portofolia v příslušném období - prostě je neměli ... hlavně z důvodu nevyhovění požadavkům SRI
