To determine the need for an RtI framework for their students, administrators can use a rubric or outline to conduct and analyze the results of a needs assessment, review results of available mathematics assessments, and evaluate the knowledge and needs of staff (Hall, 2011). Once a school’s needs are identified, leadership team members should select mathematics assessment tools and evidence-based interventions to be used with students. The team should also determine who will provide interventions and when they will be administered. The team should consider flexible, ***cross-classroom groupings ***and schedules (Center on Response to Intervention, n.d.).
